September 2013 validation comments

The FishFinderVRE has 2 key software components; The on-line VREVirtual Research Environment. and the off-line reporting tool. The tool will be used by a group of scientist in South America, in a collaboration with FAO representatives. The project encountered delays not related to iMarine activities. The exploitation of the tool will not commence before October 2013. This also delayed the validation.

1. The on-line VREVirtual Research Environment. was validated in January 2013, with one important caveat: the validators are not the end-users, and thus final validation awaits the mobilization of the project team.
2. FishFinder Off-line can not yet be validated, as the components are ready, but the project team has not yet been mobilized. The off-line version differs from the on-line version in that it does not include all features, and is focused on data contributors. Validation here must be done by a group of end-users. This may result in new requirements. However, the in-house validation completed successfully.

The final validation is postponed until the FishFinder team is complete.

The FishFinder Team was reorganized, and the activity in South America has yet to commence.
