Notes
Development of BiOnym
GP and Lino explain who'll do what on the BiOnym interface:
- Casey is developing an interface on the FIN infrastructure, using the iMarine interface as back-end. The interface was discussed last week, and the notes of last week's meeting (http://wiki.i-marine.eu/index.php/12.12.2013_BiolDiv) summarises the discussion, and has a link to a presentation with a suggested lay-out: http://goo.gl/6mYgg7, slide 4.
- GP will integrate this in the iMarine infrastructure. We assumed [to be confirmed by Nicolas and Casey]that FIN will maintain its interface on its own servers (which will be called by iMarine pages); it would be useful to have a mirror on the iMarine infrastructure as well, as a measure against potential connectivity problems at FIN.
For the evaluation: we'll work on a smaller subset for the time being; fish is a group of the right size. Edward will produce the test data set and share with GP.
There were some problems in getting R scripts to run on the RStudio version on iMarine, caused by different behaviour of different versions of R and its packages. There is a newer version available than the one that was used:
- Edward used http://rstudio.p.d4science.research-infrastructures.eu/, which is version 2.11
- The newer version is on http://rstudio.d.d4science.research-infrastructures.eu/, version 2.15
In view of the idiosyncrasies of R, it would be worth considering offering access to different versions of R on the infrastructure.
