This page intends to be an inventory of the data sources in the process to be shared by data providers with the Geospatial Cluster.

FAO

Description Format / Data Access Links Availability for Data discovery (CSW) Availability in iMarine Geospatial catalog
Fishery data
  • Global capture production: fishery statistical collection on global catch data (by FAO Major Area)
  • Regional capture collections: Regional fishery statistical collections on catch data (by FAO statistical areas)
  • Tuna Atlas collections: Tuna fishery statistical collections as used in the FAO Tuna Atlas
SDMX
Species distributions
  • FAO Aquatic Species distributions: Ecological distributions of species of interest for fisheries
OGC WMSSee Workload Management System or Web Mapping Service./WFSWeb Feature Service
Species occurrence data
Environmental data and models outputs
Other relevant GIS data
  • Other GIS layers of interest (datasets and associated WxS services)
    • Fishery statistical areas
    • Regional Fishery Bodies areas(RFBs)
  • Intersection Engine results: Intersections layers produced with the FAO Intersection Engine application
OGC WMSSee Workload Management System or Web Mapping Service./WFSWeb Feature Service

IOC-UNESCO

Description Format / Data Access Links Availability for Data discovery (CSW)
Species occurrence data
  • OBIS species occurence data is yet available through a SPD plugin
  • OBIS species occurence data (in first step restricted to WoRDSS deep-sea species) will be described with OGC metadata and discoverable through CSW, as recommended in the data & service sharing guidelines. This action will be performed within the infrastructure in order to expose OBIS deep-sea species occurence data through the iMarine GeoNetwork and the GeoExplorer. This target the Business Case 2 - Support to FAO / deep seas fisheries programme

IRD

Description Format / Data Access Links Availability for Data discovery (CSW)
Fishery data
  • IRD Sardara database: a database on world tuna catches
  • IRD Obstuna database: a database on tuna fisheries bycatches
  • IRD Fishframe database: DCF data of IRD centralized in database omplying with Fishframe XML schema (through Jaxb / hibernate).
SDMX
Fishery data
  • IRD Sardara database: a database on world tuna catches
  • IRD Obstuna database: a database on tuna fisheries bycatches
OGC
Species distributions
  • IRD Ecoscope database: brings part of IRD databases (through views) that shows location of species occurences
OGC
Species occurrence data
  • IRD IPT server: species occurences: brings part of IRD databases (through views) that shows location of species occurences
Environmental data and models outputs
  • physical, chemical, and biological data (SST, Wind, Clorophyll, etc)
netCDF / OGC WxS
